Clive Morton

Clive was born in Bristol in 1935 and moved to Liverpool in the early 1950s working in the band instrument department of Rushworths Islington. It wasn't until 1962 that the opportunity came to afford a Double Bass whilst living in Birmingham and listening to the likes of Ronnie Scott, Gordon Beck and Ron Mathewson. Clive joined the ‘Midland All Stars' playing mainly New Orleans and Dixie Land Music. Also worked with the Avon Cities Band and made several L.Ps.

More recent years has been working for BBC Radio 2 Night Ride and other programmes. Worked with Bud Shank, Bill Perkins, John Critchinson and Martin Drew on Shanks Visit to the West Country. Clive also accompanied Tal Farlow at Ronnie Scotts and other major venues, recorded with Groove Juice special (2 LPs) and played many international Jazz Festivals. Recently working with Digby Fairweather, (John Taylor Bristol) and Craig Milverton.
