Derek Wadsworth

Thirty six years of professional experience in top level Jazz, playing with Maynard Fergusson, Dankworth, Charlie Watts, Lyttleton, Stan Tracey, make Derek a unique Musician, at home equally with a Jazz group or a large Symphony Orchestra. Derek has recorded with Tony Bennett, Randy Crawford and many more. Early in the 60s he became Musical Director for Georgie Fame and Alan Price, also for the hit Musical ‘Hair' in the original London version. As arranger he has worked with Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey, Nina Simone and countless others

Orchestral Arranging includes the Royal Philharmonic and the Prague Symphony Orchestras (more than 30 albums). Other projects include a pilot T.V. series with David Lane of ‘Muppets' fame and an Omnibus film on Salvador Dali.

A fellow ‘Northern Rose' and soul mate of the Pendleburys, Derek's contribution to this session is superb. He was called in as arranger to create a cohesive sound for these eclectic musician, particularly in the interwoven numbers which give this session its identity.
