John is self taught from the age of seven. His imaginative and always swinging style comes from studying all aspects of Jazz drumming, but particularly Jo Jones to Tony Williams. A master of the brushes and able to play any tempo, John has earned the nickname ‘Dumbo' because he is ‘all ears' when he plays!

John is founder owner of the now legendary ‘Gibbs Jazz Nightclubs' in Abergavenny and Cardiff and author of an hilarious book on the subject.

He now does what he most enjoys touring Britain and Europe with the Pendleburys doubling as chauffeur in his stretch limo. Some people settled for Ford Transits but Keith and Marcia were well used to being mistaken for the Mayor and Mayoress.
